With 15+ years of instructional experience, Coach Cara Schwartz services communities with the growing demand for quality fastpitch softball clinics. Cara currently is involved with multiple leagues across the local area, and influences a wide-range of players at multiple levels. As a Fastpitch Instructor and Windmill Pitching Coach in Westchester County, her professional background as a former School Counselor offers a distinct quality to her coaching style, causing players to tap specifically into their personal confidence, and strengthen their character and development.

Growing up in Yonkers, NY Cara experienced her passion for softball at a young age as a member of the Hillcrest Lakers Community Club. With a family devoted to softball, Cara’s father, Allan Sadovsky was the Co-Founder of the Yonkers Federation League. During the summer months of her junior and senior year in high school, Cara was the starting Pitcher and Utility Player for the Beach Girls Gold NJ Tournament Team and in 1988, was selected as a member of the Open Division for the New York Empire State Games. In 1989, Cara graduated from Roosevelt High School, receiving a full athletic scholarship to Pace University in Pleasantville, NY, to pitch at the NCAA II Level, and was designated as a “Utility Player” during double headers. After graduating from Pace, she was invited to become the first Women’s Graduate Assistant in the Athletic Department and was appointed Assistant Softball Coach (1993-1996). While coaching at Pace University, Cara was picked, from a field of 3,000 players, by The Colorado Silver Bullets, a professional women’s baseball team, to participate in their spring training facility in Orlando, Florida.

Since her days as an NCAA II Assistant Coach at Pace University, Cara coached softball at Suffern High School and The Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel H.S., both at JV and Varsity levels. Cara has also volunteered as a Coach for Youth Baseball of New Rochelle (YBNR) and New Rochelle Little League (NRLL). She has served as the former Assistant Coach with Total Kaos, a Westchester based Tournament Team, and also led as Head Coach with The Lady Pride at ProSwing in Port Chester, NY during the summer of 2017. Cara has managed the Pelham WPBA Summer Travel Team (16u &10u), and YBNR 10u Bombers to a Championship during the 2015 Fall Ball Tournament Season. In the Spring of 2016, Cara was appointed Asst. Varsity Coach at New Rochelle High School, and Co-Coordinator of The Section 1 SENIOR All–Star Game. September 2017, Blazing Paths with Fastpitch Softball LLC was launched and impacts various levels of fastpitch players who wish to pursue, and demonstrate their passion in the sport of fastpitch softball. This winter, THE DIAMOND CLUB at ProSwing was designed specifically to nurture the positive SPIRIT, and the sharpening of SKILLS of our youngest players between the ages of 6 – 11 years old.

Cara earned a Bachelor Degree in Psychology, and Master Degree in Counseling with a Concentration of Alcohol and Substance Abuse from Pace University. She has served as a professional school counselor, and worked at both Catholic and public high schools for nearly a decade. In 2001, she earned NYS School Counselor Certification. Cara also served as Director of Admissions and Guidance Counselor at Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy High School. Cara has experience working with the college application process and college recruitment and has also assisted freshmen with the high school transition, and sophomores with career exploration.

Off the softball field, Cara continues to work with children! Throughout the past 4 years, Cara was assigned various roles at the prestigious Mount Tom Summer Day Camp in New Rochelle, including Communications Coordinator (Summer 2014, 2015); Director of Athletics (Summer 2016); and Group Leader (2017).
